Open Prayer Space plus Grief/Trauma Therapists Available: 8 am – 8 pm Thursday and Friday, August 28 & 29

We are horrified by the tragic mass shooting today at Annunciation Catholic Church and School, our neighbor just a few blocks away. We offer prayer and support to all the families affected and recognize that while inadequate, they remain an essential component of our deep commitment to justice in the midst of terrible violent acts.

Creekside UCC will be open for all for prayer 8 am – 8 pm Thursday and Friday, August 28 & 29. Please join us in prayer as we continue to seek meaningful ways to address and reduce gun violence in our neighborhood, city, state, and beyond.

Creekside UCC is a courageous, progressive congregation of the United Church of Christ. We share joy in worship and fellowship, nurture people of all ages as an intergenerational community, seek to grow in mind and spirit, support one another in times of grief, and pursue healing and justice in the world around us.

We gather on the sacred ancestral homeland of the Dakota people. We acknowledge and honor the Dakota, Ojibwe, and Ho-Chunk peoples who still live here and those who were violently removed from land they’d loved for generations. We seek healing for the land, its waters, its people, and all life from the violence of colonialism. And so, we commit to transforming Christian ideas and practices that have fueled harm, learning from Indigenous wisdom, and pursuing justice in kinship with our Indigenous members and neighbors.
